"Flow2Go" provides greater flexibility in the workshop and onsite

Over the last 30 years the technology of thermal drilling has made inroads and has presented a viable alternative to fasteners. It is a cost effective choice over the vast array of inserts and weldnuts available for a threaded connection.

The manufacturers of Flowdrill have now introduced the mobile system “Flow2Go”, to enable the application of thermal drilling onsite.
This process is easily and quickly implemented in the workshop or at diverse locations. The new “Flow2Go” consists of a specially designed and easily handled (6.5kg.) drill base, as well as a 2 gear 1kW performance hand drill, available in both 230V (EU) and 110V (US)
models which meet all the required specifications for thermal drilling and tapping. A modified collet tool holder is available to safely transfer the required axial force and torque.

Thermal drilling is ideally suited for blind holes in tube, pipe and box section of steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper and brass and provides the foundation for threads with high pullout strength. The mobile unit eliminates the need of a pillar drill and facilitates onsite
drilling and tapping enabling construction of hollow sections e.g. balustrades, railings, etc.

The Flowdrill process creates 3 to 4 times the material thickness for a threaded connection, and is ideally suited where there is insufficient thickness of parent material, thereby eliminating the need of an insert.
The mobile Flow2Go was developed for material thickness of 0.8mm to 2.5mm and hole sizes of M4 to M8. The hand drill provides overload protection and electronic speed control 0-2600rpm. The reverse setting for tapping is manual. The drill base is robust and sturdy, with an infinite height adjustment on a moveable and solid slide.
